Too Little, Too Late
Music/Lyrics: Steven Stubblefield

It’s too little too late. Oh, the heartache.
All the pain that you caused me dear, it’s
too little too late.
Well, I had a little woman down in Arkansas. She’s as mean as the pine grows tall.
She’s Hateful, so hateful.
And just like her momma did her daddy before. She pick a fight then hit the door.
See you later, Alligator.
It’s too little too late. Oh, the heartache.
All the pain that you caused me dear, it’s
too little too late.
And then she came a knocking at my door, just like she’s done a thousand times before,
still complaining, so aggravating.
So I sent her kicking rocks down the line. Life’s much sweeter without a bride.
Now I made it. You’re not gonna take it.
It’s too little too late. Oh, the heartache.
All the pain that you caused me dear, it’s
too little too late.
2x
It’s too little too late.

One More Time
Music/Lyrics: Steven Stubblefield
We talked about life, love, and faith and how twenty years could get away.
I could see in your eyes the emptiness of pain.
AS if the sun could shine on a dog in the rain. I’m heavier now than a ball and chain.
I’ve never known this kind of heartache.

In case the world ends tomorrow, I’m driving all night
Just so I could be there to touch you
one more time.

Everything I own still smells like you and since you left even the dog’s got the blues.
He walks around sniffing from room to room.
I play my guitar so the hours fly by. With every chord I strum’s got you on my mind.
My heart aches in 4/4 time.

In case the world ends tomorrow, I’m driving all night
Just so I could be there to touch you
one more time.
Case the world ends tomorrow, I’m driving all night
Just so I could be there to touch you
one more time.

Wear Your Smile
Music/Lyrics: Steven Stubblefield
I will chase you to the end of the Earth. For, I know now what its worth to see you and to need you.
And your song lives in my heart. I’m looking for a brand new start and I’ve seen it. Oh, I need it.
But, I got no one have you got some one?
It’s about time to live this life. I’ve tried.
Oh, how I’ve tried.
But, I got no one have you got some one?
It’s about time to live this life I’ve tried. I just can’t smile.
So, can I wear yours for a while?
So, I spent my life chasin’ a dream. So much sometimes I can be seen, for no reason I’m still breathing.
But, I washed away all of my sins. The past is gone so I’ll begin again. A new season, to believe in.
But, I got no one have you got some one?
It’s about time to live this life. I’ve tried.
Oh, how I’ve tried.
But, I got no one have you got some one?
It’s about time to live this life I’ve tried. I just can’t smile.
So, can I wear yours for a while?

Firearms and Seeds
Music/Lyrics: Steven Stubblefield

How do you save a man that’s got nothing to lose and woman he pays alimony to?
He counts calories and liquor is food.
He cooks pancakes at dawn and he can change his oil, with bare hands catch a gator and go to a crawfish boil. He can change a tire and whittle a stick.

We get high, get drunk, pick fights.
We live life ‘til it’s gone.

He does what he’s gotta do one day at a time. The dog gets fed and the fish gets fried. Oh the pigs got fat and a chicken lays eggs.
He can hit a squirrel with a .22 from eighty feet away. He gets what he eats the old fashion way, fire arms and seeds, a hook and a line.

We get high, get drunk, pick fights.
We live life ‘til it’s gone.

How do you save a man that’s got nothing to lose and woman he pays alimony to?
He counts calories and liquor is food.

A Girl From Tchoupitoulas Street
Music/Lyrics: Steven Stubblefield
Someone dropped a pine box on my head and it splintered with a midget’s glee.
Oh, the old tin roof has got a leak and the beggar’s got a drink for me. Yes, the beggar’s got a drink for me.

The choir has been drinking absinthe and the Old Rugged Cross is drunk.
Death is soundly sleeping on the top bunk and life is just a jitter bug. Yes, life is just a jitter bug.

He had shattered dreams and a broken heart. There are spider webs on Heaven’s gate.
So, if there is such a thing as fate. She’ll mend his heart with painter’s tape. Yes, she’ll mend his heart with painter’s tape.

It’s hot as Hell here in Texas and even the brimstone can’t stand this heat. And just when I thought no one could save me, I met a girl from Tchoupitoulas street. I met a girl from Tchoupitoulas street.

Dry County in Hell
Music/Lyrics: Steven Stubblefield and Mitchell Vandenburg

Well, the bridge was burned but the bed was dry and on my way to the other side, I met a snake who said he knew my name. I said oh no, it can’t be true, you must be thinking of someone that you once knew. Cuz, I’ve never kept company with snakes.
So, as I turned to walk away. He said, Kindly sir, if I may remind you of a debt you have to pay. It was a night oh so long ago, out on the crossroads, you made a deal you must now uphold.

Oh, your soul is on the line
I got you, you’re mine
Here’s your name signed on the dotted line.
Said his name was Mephistopheles and he’d trade my soul back for a drink. Cuz, liquor is so heavenly.

If that’s something you can authorize, come on now let’s take a ride down to my favorite watering hole. For someone like you they’ll run a tab and at the end of the night they’ll call a cab to make sure that you get safely home.
So, we bellied up at the bar and asked the keep for his finest jar and we made a toast with liquor made from rye. He said I might have Hell to pay as he held that paper above the flame and I watched my debt incinerate.

Repeat chorus:

Daylight Saving
Music/Lyrics: Steven Stubblefield

What if they days you want have come and gone.
And the tears you cried have dried to salt.
Then why can’t you just move on.

And if all you had was a simple song.
Would it be enough to move you along.
What if the sun shown down and the days were long.
If the sun shown down and the days were long.

What if the trees were green and the crickets sang.
You could go commando in the rain and watch
all your worries wash down a street drain.

And if the pollen was thick and the fruit was cheap.
That time of year the crawfish scream from a boiling pot
down on Easy street.
From a boiling pot down on Easy street.

Leavin’ Mississippi
Music/Lyrics: Steven Stubblefield

Well, the dog days of august, ain’t made for a dog like me.  Still the hottest summer I ever spent was a winter down in Mississippi.
My good ‘ol gal was killed by a train, down in a holler in Tennessee.  So, I packed a bag and rode the rails.  Made my home down in Mississippi.

Well, I hawked my guitar for a bottle of sin.  Oh, how I love my whiskey sweet.  The women are bitter and the air is thick and work is scarce down in Mississippi.
I loved that dog more than I ever loved you and now that you’re gone I’m living free.  I’ve packed a bag and I’m heading west.  Now, I’m leaving Mississippi.

(Tonight) I’m Just Looking to Get Laid
Music/Lyrics: Steven Stubblefield

Well, my baby don’t love me know more. She packed a bag in hit the door.
She left me with a broken heart.
And this whisky morning is just a start.
I’m going out I gotta dime. Oh, and I’m just lookin’ to get l-a-i-d tonight.

I see you got your red dress on, sitting at the end of the bar.
You’re looking hot and oh so fine.
What you doing later tonight.
No, I aint looking for no bride. No, I’m just looking to get l-a-i-d tonight.

At two AM the lights come on. I guess it’s time to go home.
But, the bar keep says you gotta pay your tab.
And maybe I should call you a cab.
No, it’s fine I’m on foot tonight…. And red dress says, “I’ll give you a ride. Oh, and I’m just looking to get l-a-i-d tonight.

Suffer no More
Music/Lyrics: Steven Stubblefield

Sometimes you may feel there is no place in this world for you and you’re all alone.
Sometimes you may want to just disappear when all the love that you had is gone,
when all the love that you had is gone.

If the weight of the world is on your back and you have suffered long.
Think how your loved ones would feel, if you should disappear and all the love that you have is gone.
Think how your loved ones would feel, If you should disappear and all the love that you have is gone.
Oh, all the love that you have is gone

You Will Heal
Music Steven Stubblefield
Lyrics Steven Stubblefield Ashley Taylor

I can tell that you are hurting.  I’ve seen the redness in your eyes and with all the tears you’ve cried could surely end this drought.  You will heal.  You’ll heal.
Your momma’s gone to heaven and your daddy drinks too much.  Your brother’s gone to fight a war hat just can’t be won.  You will heal.  You’ll heal.

Of all the things that I’ve seen here and there and in between, pain’s real.
In time and space for living things when the levee breaks that flood is so real, so real.           You will heal.

Time can heal a broken heart or so that’s what they say.  But, how can time heal anything that’s been thrown away.  You will heal.  You’ll heal.
Now, I wish for you the best of things that may come.  Cuz, sometimes hanging on is all that can be done.  You will heal.  You’ll heal.

Of all the things that I’ve seen here and there and in between, pain’s real.
In time and space for living things when the levee breaks that flood is so real, so real.           You will heal.
